DESIGNBUILD PERTH ATTRACTS KEY INDUSTRY PLAYERS

Quick to capitalise on their success at this year's Designbuild Perth, Australian businesses are already confirming their participation in 2009, with 30 percent of floor space already sold for next year’s largest building and design exhibition in Western Australia.

"The show was even better than last year’s! The focus on plumbing branding was excellent and we found a lot of country plumbers came along. We’ve generated around 90 leads from the show so we’re very happy,” said David, Ridge Tools.

This year’s show was successful in attracting new business, with 70 per cent of attendees visiting Designbuild Perth for the first time. There was also strong attendance by architects and designers, who made up approximately 22 per cent of total visitors across the three-day exhibition.

“The show was everything we thought it would be. We have had a lot of interest from mainly architects and builders. It’s very difficult to put your stamp on the market without a strong sales representative so we’ve lost contact with a lot of architects consequently. This year, architects made it their business to come to the show, so getting to meet them face to face and speak with them on a personal level has been invaluable,” Marie, AMK Fabricators.

“There was a great response to Designbuild Perth this year. We had all sorts of visitors – from designers to builders, home renovators and plumbers, as well as a large representation from regional and interstate visitors. Following the success of this year’s show, planning is already underway for 2009,” said Evan Okoumousis, Exhibition Manager, Designbuild Perth.

Designbuild Perth will return to Perth Convention Exhibition Centre, 9 – 11 October 2009, and is set to be the largest building and design exhibition in Western Australia to date. Building on the success of 2008, next year’s show will again feature a strong focus on sustainable building and plumbing solutions across all areas of construction - residential, commercial and industrial.
